Do you accept Medicare?

Currently, Medicare mental health plans don’t cover counsellors, psychotherapists, or creative therapists. However, we offer concession rates for those in need, making our services more affordable and accessible. Some clients find this concession rate comparable to the out-of-pocket costs they would still pay after receiving Medicare rebates with a psychologist.

Our art therapist and counsellor team come from diverse professional backgrounds and bring experience working with children, adolescents and adults across a wide range of mental health, disability and life experiences.

What registrations do your therapists hold?

Our Art Therapists are professional members of ANZACATA and are registered as Art Therapists.Some team members also hold professional registration with PACFA as Certified Practising Counsellors or Registered Clinical Counsellors, and some are members of PACFA’s College of Creative and Experiential Therapists.Some therapists on our team also hold WorkSafe Victoria registration.Finding Wellbeing is a registered NDIS provider under the Therapy Supports category and has specialised in providing Art Therapy and Counselling services since 2019.

How long are sessions?

Each session lasts 1 hour.

Some clients may occasionally request longer sessions, which can be arranged at an additional cost.

Can I talk with someone before deciding?

Yes. Our Practice Director, Alana Stewart, Registered Art Therapist and Registered Clinical Counsellor, leads our team and prefers to speak with new clients before they begin.This helps us understand your needs, explain the different services we offer, and match you with a therapist who is likely to be a good fit.It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and make sure the support is tailored to what you are looking for.

What are your fees?

As we offer services across in-person/telehealth, group and outreach, our fees can vary depending on the type of service provided. Please get in touch to discuss the fees that apply to your needs.
We also offer a concessional sliding scale for private-paying clients to help make therapy more accessible for people who may not have access to NDIS, WorkSafe, brokerage or other third-party funding.
For some clients, the out-of-pocket cost may be comparable to what they would pay to see a psychologist after rebates.

Where are you located?

Our Art Therapy studio and counselling space is Yellow Gum Art Therapy Studio in Mill Park, Melbourne’s north.
We are located upstairs in the business suites at The Stables Shopping Centre. Please note there is no lift, and access requires going up one flight of stairs.
Parking is available behind the main building, accessed from Redleap Avenue near the football ground.
To find us, enter through the glass door between Fat Wraps and The Winning Post Barber, then head upstairs to the studio at the end of the hallway to suite 2.
Please note there is no waiting room, so we ask clients to arrive at their appointment time, knock and wait for their therapist to let them in.

Is your space wheelchair accessible?

Unfortunately, our Mill Park Yellow Gum Art Therapy Studio is not wheelchair accessible. We are located upstairs in the business suites at The Stables Shopping Centre, and there is no lift access.
If stairs are not accessible for you, we may be able to offer outreach/home visits or telehealth instead, depending on your needs and location.
